We’ve had a busy few weeks supporting several great causes this month including a fun run for prostrate cancer, baking for macmillian, wearing pink for breast cancer and sponsoring a local 10k race.
First up we had Operations Director Justin, and Accounts Director Paul joining in with the Openreach team on their charity fun run. Running on behalf of Prostate Cancer, Justin ran 4 miles in the allotted hour time and Paul ran nearly 5! Did you know prostate cancer effects 1 in 8 men? There’s still time to donate to their worthy cause here.
Our 2 offices both Swindon and Banbury joined in with the Macmillian Coffee Morning, we aimed for a bake off, but it ended up being a fake off with everyone bringing in shop brought treats! Either way we all managed to enjoy a slice of cake and raised over £150 for Macmillian.
Our office staff also took on the ‘Wear it Pink Day’ On behalf of Breast Cancer Now. A few staff members had to pay the £2 forfeit for struggling to find pink in their wardrobes, but overall the pink was embraced and cake was eaten!
Lastly, Virtua were also approached by the organisers of The Brinkworth Bash to take part or help sponsor the race. The event took place near our Swindon offices and involved both a 2k fun run and a 10k cross country route. The race was to help raise money for the Sports and Heritage Society and Brinkworth School. Was a bit short notice this year, but next year we are hoping to have several staff take part in the event.
